Android: Apps: time+

March 12, 2011

I have been trying to figure out a fairly straight forward app to give me a good “intro” into android programming. I have done most of the tutorials and have played around enough to do my own thing. So here is my plan.

I want a simple program that will let me log my hours at work, as well as give me a gps coordinate when I punch in or out….just for a little bit of proof (although I think you can spoof location, so it could be argued). It would be a simple design, punch in, start lunch, end lunch, punch out. The hardest part would be making a “manual punch” part so that you could fix your hours anytime you forget to punch in. It will probably come together slow, due to school and work, but hopefully it doesn’t take too long.

I also have started building (almost done the basic diag part) a simple c++ program, console based, that will offer people information for simple “pc fix” procedures. I hate having to go online and search through pages of googled information to find what I’m looking for. I would like to include some of the fixes, tricks, and tips that I use. I will figure out how to distribute it at a later date.

  1. doesnt having a manual punch option hurt the credibility of the app? youll be able to punch in (spoofing the location data if necessary, although to do that youd need it hooked up to eclipse/adb) and claim you started/stopped working at any time.
