CHKDSK runs everytime pc starts up. PC boots to chkdsk at every boot.

March 15, 2011

If you start up your pc and have to run chkdsk every time, try this to fix it.

1. click on your start menu and click run
2. type “cmd” and right click on it. “Run as administrator”
3. Next type “fsutil dirty query c:”
4. If the message says its “dirty” proceed to next step.
5. type chkdsk c: /f /x   (it will make you restart, just press Y, then restart the computer)
6. After that finshes repeat step 3. If it says its Clean, your done.

Another reason a PC will run chkdsk is because a thumb/flash drive is plugged into the computer while you are starting up. Remove the flash drive and restart. That should clear up your issue. If not, try what i recommended above.
