0x0000007b BSOD. Startup BSOD

August 15, 2011

Recently a large volume of PC’s have come to us with blue screens. We have seen a general increase in the amount of pc’s that blue screen after virus removal as well. When this happens people usually tell the customer to have their Operating system reinstalled. TRY THIS FIRST.

1. Boot into repair your computer by pressing f8 while the pc is starting up (before the windows logo comes up). Select repair your computer.

2. Go into command prompt and type bootrec /fixmbr

3. In command prompt again type bootrec /fixboot

4. Restart pc and cross your fingers.

5. If this doesnt work, repeat steps 1-3 and then do this>

ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old

bootrec /rebuildbcd

Good luck
