Windows Setup could not configure Windows on this computer’s hardware, cant install windows updates after fresh os install.

April 11, 2012

This issue is one that many people have a hard time grasping here, but it makes sense and it is very simple to fix.

Hard drives are no longer formatted with the same sector size as they once were. The intel rapid storage management does not play nice with them. When you try to install windows you will typically get an error such as this one. OTher times it will go through the install fine but when you get into the OS the windows updates will not work, or system files will be unsigned.

IF you get through the install of the OS you can just go to the website and install the drivers.

1. Load into windows and if you have internet go to this site

2. Install the latest rapid storage management software

3. Restart and you are good to go.

If you cannot get into windows and the install will not go through do this

1. Start PC and when it gets to the part of the install that you can add drivers do this>

2. Go to another PC and download the newest intel rapid storage management software

**DOWNLOAD the diskettes.

3. Go back to the PC and put the intel rapid storage management on it

4. Continue the install like normal

5. This should fix the issue and the install will go through fine

Hope this works, if you have any problems or need some help email me. The contact info is in my about page
